When ever we are buying any electrical appliances from the market we are looking at the energy stars. We pay more if the star rating of that appliance is more and we are always a step forward for buying the products which has a higher star rating. Did we ever try to understand the meaning of the energy star? I can bet that very few of us will do that. We came to know about this energy star program through the Energy Star Campaigns and TV commercials.

In the year 1992 the Energy Star program was launched by the solicitation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, for the identification and promotion of the energy efficient electronic products. The star mark in a certain product helps the customers to save some energy and in the long run that will be beneficial for him and the environment.

The Government of the United States has taken the initiative to promote this campaign and support it. It is not only beneficial from the financial aspects only, but protects our ecology and environmental balance. Technologies nowadays have done manifold advantages. The stand-by features in different appliances and the LCD lighting have brought huge changes in the technologies that we are using.

The scientists are still in the process of researching new and developed technologies which will save and conserve more and more energy in the future.
